Today is an A day

Electronic Devices - These are NOT allowed in class during class instruction time.  Brunch, Lunch, before and after school...OKAY.  If yours is confiscated, you need to come in WITH parent to collect them from Cheryl in the Front Office

Job Opportunity - People Power is looking for youth interns to educate and encourage bicycling for transportation in Santa Cruz County.  See Cheryl in the Front Office for more details if interested

Picture Order Forms - Deadline is end of day TODAY, Thursday 9/1/11.  There WILL be a makeup day in about a month if you missed Monday’s picture day.  Details later on date and time.  Turn in forms to Cheryl in the Front Office.  Don’t miss out!.

Lost & Found - IF you lose anything, come to Cheryl in the Front Office to describe and collect the item(s).  We have already received an unclaimed pair of sunglasses AND a jacket, in case you are missing these one of these items.

Bell Schedule - We have a NEW bell schedule this year.  It has been slightly revised by about five minutes, so be sure to pay attention and listen to the bells so as to not be late to your classes.  You should have received a hard copy in your info packets.

Dress Code - Please check your Planners and online for the new, revised Dress Code.  You WILL be responsible for following it!

Front Office Aides - Please see Cheryl in the Front Office if you would like to get five credits of Pass/Fail and see how your school is run.  You MUST have near-perfect attendance, A/B grades, and no discipline issues.  So far we have filled only A3 and A4.

Yearbooks - Those students who have yet to pick up last year’s books, see Gail Atlansky in the Couseling Office.  We will also have books still for sale - details to follow.

Lockers -  We are initiating a new system this year and are hoping to have the assignments as soon as possible.  Please listen for the announcements for further details.

Parking Permits - Stay tuned for an announcement as to when the new year’s application forms will be available in the Front Office.  In the meantime, ALL students must be parking in the LOWER student lots - NOT up on the upper level.

Work Permits - Application forms are in the Front Office with Cheryl.  Once the student has the completed form (with student, parent, AND employer information), they can bring it into Cheryl and she will forward it to Stu Walters, Athletic Director for processing of the school information, which will then be done ONCE A WEEK on Wednesdays during his B7 period.  When they are processed, he will give them to Cheryl and she will announce on the intercom for the student to come in and pick them up so as to deliver to the employer.

Infinite Campus - Parents/guardians are to come into the Front Office with their photo IDs (i.e., driver’s license) to see Cheryl to get their account set up.  Students are to see Ms. Britton, Librarian, for their accounts.  If you have ALREADY set up an account in a previous year, you are still effective with the SAME user name and password.  If you cannot remember what that is, call Cheryl at x129 and she will re-enable your account.  Students would go to Ms. Britton again.  This is required of EVERYONE to be able to check their ATTENDANCE at least every other day so as to avoid any penalties/consequences (i.e., Saturday School).

Fall Sports - If you are interested in participating (cross country, girls golf, girls & boys waterpolo, girls tennis, or football), it is not too late.  See Mr. Walters TODAY!!!
Also - Freshmen girls volleyball tryouts are tomorrow, Friday 9/2, in the Gym from 4-5:30p.

Seniors:  The last day to have your Senior Pictures taken to be included in the Senior Section of the yearbook is Monday, September 12, 2011.  Please call Larry’s Photography, our official school photographer at 831-423-2815 to schedule your appointment.  Please remember that they are the only photographer authorized to submit senior photos to the yearbook.

Whole Foods Community Day - The Santa Cruz and Capitola stores will host a 5% Community Day on Wednesday, 9/14/11.  Five percent of all sales will go toward Santa Cruz City Schools programs including Outdoor Science School, Life Lab gardens and Food What?!  Save up your back-to-school shopping for 9/14/11!!

Schedule Changes - Grade levels will be prioritized so that Juniors will be today, Thursday 9/1/11; Sophomores tomorrow, Friday 9/2/11; and Freshmen on Tuesday, 9/6/11 when we return after the Labor Day holiday.  All will be done in the Counseling Office from 8:30a-3:30p.
