SHORTER WEEK
This week's schedule starts with a B day, since winter break begins this Friday, Dec. 23. Students do not return until Monday, Jan. 9, which will also be a B day.

MUSIC MEETING

The Soquel High Music Foundation will meet this Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Music Room. Our parent-run organization supports the wide range of students' musical activities and we are always looking for new parents and opportunities to support the fantastic programs at our school. Our choir director Mark Bidelman is retiring this year and the school district is considering replacing him with a part-time instructor. Our principal Ken Lawrence-Emanuel has invited input and many concerned parents have already taken time to email him about the potential impact on the program. Please join us as we occupy the Music Room on Tuesday and discuss this situation and plan for our Pancake Breakfast!

BAND CONCERT

Enjoy sounds and flavors of the season at the 16th Annual Winter Dessert Concert this Thursday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Multi-Use Room. Performances by the Concert Band, Jazz Band A, Jazz Band B and more! Admission is free but all are asked to bring a dessert to share.

CAREER PRESENTATION
Thinking about studying international relations or a career in the diplomatic service? On Thursday, Dec.22, during lunch in room 101, David McCawley, will speak about his career in the United States State Department. He is the senior desk officer to France and will speak about his education and experience in the United States Diplomatic Corps and Foreign Affairs. Interested students should sign up with Mrs. Banks in counseling for a ten-minute early dismissal from your A3 class that day.

THANKS TO LUNCHEON HELPERS

Thank you to those who contributed food, drink, and/or time to the staff luncheon. It was a huge success with a variety of delicious lunch items and yummy treats. The teachers and staff appreciated and enjoyed the tremendous effort by the SHS families! Enjoy a peaceful holiday and a bright New Year !- Juli McDermott

FABULOUS FUNDRAISER
Thanks to all of the families who came and supported the Ford Drive One 4 Your School Fundraiser on the final day of Homecoming. The check has arrived and lead sponsor Girls' Volleyball received $2,550, with all school groups earning a total of $3,560. It was a great success but we can make it even better next year if everyone can come out and participate. If every family came out for 15 minutes we could make up to $6,000. A huge thank you goes to North Bay Ford for allowing our school to participating in this fundraiser!
