Timeline and Requirements for Participation
Now Scholarships: Current scholarship information and scholarship applications are available in the Counseling Office. SHS Student Scholarship Profile forms, required to receive a local scholarship, can still be returned.
Nov-June Request the registrar to send an official transcript to a college or institution.  Official and unofficial transcripts may also be picked up in the counseling office.
Dec 9/10 
Order your cap, gown, announcements and other graduation accessories.  The Herff-Jones representative will visit Government & Economics classes.

SHS rings arrive for pickup.
February FAFSA Workshop in SHS Library  6pm (date TBA)
Feb 22 Cabrillo Honors Program Presentation in SHS Library during lunch
Feb. 24 Deadline to co-enroll in Adult Education for a credit class for graduation
Feb 25 Winter Formal, Cocoanut Grove, 8-11:30pm
March Sign-ups for Cabrillo Assessment – On-line application & practice materials
March 7 Cabrillo College High School Scholarship deadline
March 11 Deadline to clear incompletes/grade changes from January, 2011
Mar. 11 Deadline to inform your counselor that you want to record any of your Cabrillo classes on your high school transcript
April 1 Class rank, valedictorian(s) and salutatorian(s) determined and finalized.
April Inform Counseling Secretary of any awards or scholarships that you want acknowledged at the awards ceremony >
April 9 Assessment Test for Cabrillo College in SAC West Room 200 @ 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon.  Sign-ups in the counseling office
April 29 Last day to participate in Running Start.  If you are a local Santa Cruz high school senior and have not applied, assessed, and completed your orientation by April 29th you will not be able to participate in Running Start.
May Caps and gowns arrive.  Two dates – 1st delivery for regular orders; 2nd delivery for late orders.
May Inform the Counseling Secretary of your final college placement -- where you have been accepted and will be attending.
May Place requests for final transcripts to be mailed to colleges.  Registrar’s Office closes for the summer on June 10th
May 12 Deadline for completing an Adult Education credit class for graduation.
May 20 Running Start - early counseling, enrollment, orientation for Cabrillo College (Assessment required) – 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cabrillo.
May 27 Senior Prom, Cocoanut Grove, 8-11:30 p.m.
June 1 Senior Awards Ceremony, 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.
June 4 Last Saturday School before graduation.  All outstanding Saturday School hours must be
completed.
June 6-9 Final Exams
June 9 Graduation practice (mandatory for participation in Commencement) at 1:45 p.m. on the field.
June 10 Graduation Ceremony, 12:00 p.m. in the SHS stadium.

Behavior Requirements for Participation in Graduation Activities
 
It is our desire to have a safe, orderly and dignified close to the school year.

In accordance with established Soquel High practice, students who, during their senior year:

  • Possess, furnish, or are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs at a school-sponsored event,
  • Engage in acts of battery or other violence,
  • Engage in acts of theft or vandalism,
  • Are suspended for any other violation of CA Ed Code 48900, or
  • Have not paid in full any fines for parking violations, textbooks, etc., will be denied the privilege of participating in the graduation ceremony and other commencement activities.

Diplomas for those not eligible to participate will be issued through the mail.
