FOOTBALL
Congratulations to the Varsity Football team for winning the SCCAL title, the first time since 1995! Soquel ended up with the same league record as Scotts Valley, but since we beat SV, our players are the true champs in our hearts! Come out and support our team in the CCS play-offs when we play top seeded Pacific Grove at PG on Friday, 11/16 at 7pm. Pre-sale tickets are on sale today during brunch and lunch. Adults- $7, student- $5, children- $2…buy ahead, save money, and get through the gate quickly.
WATER POLO
The boys and girls teams both wrapped up a fabulous season with a loss in the second round of the CCS play-offs. The girls lost to Castilleja 14-3 and the boys fell to St. Francis of Mtn View 16-9. Great job to all the players for making it so far in the play-offs!

DUI PREVENTION PROJECT
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education in partnership with law enforcement, county drug and alcohol, the judicial system, and community partners will present a curriculum with various workshops designed to inform parents and youth about drugs and alcohol on the body and the legal ramifications for receiving a DUI citation. The first series is scheduled from 5:15pm – 8:30pm Wednesday, December 5th and again on Wednesday, December 19th. It will be held at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education in Capitola. Youth attendees will receive community service hours. Please see our web site to get the registration form.

STUDENTS
NEW COURSES
Soquel High students will be able to take two new ROP courses starting next semester -- culinary arts and interior design. Interior design will be 6-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday nights, at Santa Cruz High, and Culinary Arts will meet from 3-6 p.m., either in downtown Santa Cruz or Scotts Valley. Also, for those of you who have wanted to take administrative justice, but thought the class was offered too early in the morning, there will be another opportunity -- from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at the Santa Cruz Police Department.
Interested in being a 5th grade science camp counselor? Harbor High/ROP is offering an outdoor school counselor course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 1. The course is worth one high school elective credit, and being a camp counselor earns up to three credits. For information, email

AP STUDENTS
We are now taking deposits for the AP exams. The deposit is a minimum of $15 per exam. All deposits are due to the Finance Office by Friday, December 7, 2007. Your AP teacher should have given you your payment form. Final payments for the exams will be due by Friday, March 14, 2008. Each exam costs $84 so please start planning your payment schedule.
WINTER DANCE - Friday, December 7th.
To be admitted, students must fulfill the following requirements: All library and textbook fees must be paid, all Saturday School time must be completed, no unexcused absences for the entire week of Dec. 3rd., and no suspensions for the year.

COAT DRIVE FOR KIDS - Soquel High NHS has teamed up with Classic Cleaners in its annual coat drive for kids. Simply drop any gently used jackets or coats by Mr. Siddens room (206) and NHS (National Honor Society) will take them to Classic Cleaners to be cleaned and distributed to children in need. PROGRESS REPORTS – Tuesday, Nov. 20, is the end of the second six-week grading period. Progress report grades will be posted on ISIS a week later, after Thanksgiving.
SENIORS needing to know if they’ve demonstrated readiness for CSU college-level English courses should check the back of last year’s STAR test results. Explanation of these Early Assessment Program (EAP) statuses can be found at www.calstate.edu/eap. Anyone who can’t find their STAR test results from last year can come into the counseling office and inquire with Denise Weber, school registrar.
